During an archaeological excavation at historic Jamestown, a 17th century Ivory Diptych Sundial is discovered near an old cellar.  Analysis of the sundial using Serle's ruler shows that the dial has a latitude of 51 degrees, the same as London, England.  The early settlers of Jamestown brought their timepieces with them to the New Wolrd.
