This sundial with its unique gnomon was created by Richard Schmoyer in the early 1960's.  The NASS 3D printed Schmoyer Sunquest dial is a 1/3-scale 3D printed PLA replica of this famous sundial.  The model is 5 1/2 in (140mm) in diameter.

Universal Bifilar Sundial

Universal Bifilar Sundial

The bifilar sundial was invented by Hugo Michnik in 1922 using two orthogonal wires suspended above the dial surface.  Where the shadow of the wires cross, you tell the time.  The NASS 3D printed version is 5 in (130mm) by 8 1/4 in (210mm) with adjustable gnomon for any latitude.

Habermel Decliner
